How We Educate Lawmakers On The Importance of Credit Unions
KEY CONTACTS — We Need You
KEY CONTACTS can provide vital and timely contact with a specific elected official, state or national, or with those who serve in staff or congressional positions of influence. This gets the credit union message out immediately to influencers when a full-scale grassroots effort is not needed. Using KEY CONTACTS, a few well-placed phone calls are made.
If you or anyone you know has established a relationship with an elected official, please let them know that the credit union movement needs them. If they are willing to make contact on behalf of credit unions, please complete the following form and submit.
Credit Union Tax Status Advocacy
The most effective way to advocate for the credit union tax status is to emphasize the value that members receive from credit unions. This toolkit (available in English and Spanish) serves as a one-stop page for the credit union tax status. Please use the link for tools and resources to engage your credit union’s members on this critical issue.
Member Activation Program
The Member Activation Program (MAP) was born out of an extensive credit union research project to better understand the impact of advocacy-related communications. Surveying over 70,000 credit union members in 2014, we found that advocacy communications succeed in activating CU members and increase members’ loyalty bond with their credit union.
