Established in 1978, the ICU Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, funded entirely by voluntary contributions. The Foundation is dedicated to serving the needs of credit unions and the communities they serve by way of grants, scholarships and cooperative partnerships.
ICUF Commemorative Program
The Illinois Credit Union Foundation’s Commemorative Program is a moving way to acknowledge a special person or credit union, while also supporting the credit union movement. Honor an individual’s memory, recognize a colleague’s professional accomplishments or celebrate your credit union’s milestones.

Memorial & Tribute Awards
Memorial and Tribute Awards are established in the name of the honored person for contributions totaling $500 or more. Memorial awards are recognized during the Illinois Credit Union League’s Annual Convention during the year in which the award is established.
When a memorial or tribute fund reaches at least $2,500, a perpetual scholarship may be established. A perpetual award is acknowledged during the Illinois Credit Union League’s Annual Convention for eternity.
How to Donate
Gifts can be made online payable to “ICU Foundation” and sent to PO Box 3107, Naperville, IL 60566-7107. Please indicate the name of the person being honored in the memo portion of the check. Enjoy a great day of golf and camaraderie with your colleagues while helping keep the credit union movement on a strong course.
This annual raffle fundraiser is held in conjunction with the Annual Convention, with proceeds benefiting the ICU Foundation Scholarship, Grant & Community Service Projects. Ten lucky winners will receive cash prizes from the ICU Foundation.
If your credit union is interested in selling tickets to members, staff and board, please contact Melanie Murphy to request a supply of tickets.
Charitable Donation Accounts
This authorizes Illinois credit unions to establish charitable donation accounts to buttress credit union charitable giving efforts in the current low-yield environment.
These accounts, which may include otherwise impermissible investments, will give a credit union the opportunity to achieve a higher yield provided that at least 51 percent of the return from the account is donated to a recognized charity.
